Department of General Humanities

The Department of General Humanities strives to provide a general liberal arts education rooted in the fundamental beliefs of Christianity. Students experience a rich education based on three broad fields (philosophy/thought, culture/arts, and religion/theology) from which they can choose a specific area of interest to research in greater depth. In an academic environment which boasts a high teacher-student ratio, students can develop their reading, writing, verbal communication, and argumentation skills, rather than only focusing on the accumulation of facts and information. In this way, students are encouraged to think for themselves, to identify relevant issues, and to come up with meaningful solutions on their own.
