In April 2027, the Department Department of Education Faculty of Letters will be reorganized and expanded to become the new Faculty of Education. In addition to the traditional training of elementary school teachers and junior/senior high school teachers (English), the new faculty will also offer teaching licenses for Japanese language and science for junior/senior high schools. This will allow us to meet the diverse educational needs of the community and society.
*Application for course accreditation is currently underway. However, the content and start date of the planned teacher training course may change depending on the results of the review by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

Addressing educational challenges5-course system
Inheriting the "Child Education" and "English Education" courses from its predecessor, the Faculty Faculty of Letters Department of Education the new department will establish two courses: the "Japanese Language Education Course" and the "Science Education Course," which are scarce in the Tohoku region. In addition, a "Education and Culture Course" will be added to cultivate individuals who will play an active role in lifelong learning and social education, resulting in a total of five courses.
In each course, we make the most of our university's broad and in-depth intellectual resources and diverse staff, providing an educational experience that can only be realized at a private comprehensive university.

A broad career paththat goes beyond just teaching.
All courses broadly envision future careers that utilize the knowledge gained in the Faculty of Education.
In particular, the newly established "Education and Culture Course" will open up paths to roles such as social education specialists and librarians, extending beyond school teachers to include roles in education within society.

The challenges facing modern society are diverse and complex. Unlike the industrial society of the 20th century, which mass-produced goods, the knowledge-based society of the 21st century places great importance on intellectual activity and creativity. This faculty aims to cultivate educators who possess high levels of expertise and the ability to demonstrate interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary skills in this increasingly diverse and complex knowledge-based society.
