The Department of Information Science seeks to graduate students who have a comprehensive knowledge of information science and who have developed their skills in practical information processing. First and second year students are required to take introductory computer courses. Third and fourth year students must take courses in mathematical science, computer networks, computer science, and biological informatics. Students are expected to gain a comprehensive knowledge of information processing in all areas and be able to utilize the skills and knowledge they obtain.
