The Department of Language and Culture supports academic teaching and research around the main theme of "language", which is central to human commumcatlon and civilization. In addition to studying English, students in this department select a second foreign language from a choice of German, French, Chinese, and Korean. Over a four-year period they have the opportunity to develop their language skills in small-sized classes. The department's aim is to nurture individuals who can understand a variety of cultures and ideas through their study of language and who can contribute to intercultural activities.
