Application Guidelines for Special Auditing Students
1. Purpose
This system involves 22 universities, junior colleges, and technical colleges (hereinafter referred to as "universities") in the Sendai area concluding an "Agreement on the Sendai Academic City Credit Transfer Network." Based on this agreement, students belonging to these universities can take courses offered at other universities and have those courses recognized as credits at their own university.
Based on your interests and passions, you will be able to pursue a wide variety of learning opportunities not available at your university, so we encourage you to take full advantage of this opportunity.
2. Number of people recruiting
Tohoku Gakuin University accepts a small number of students from other universities for courses offered by each faculty and department. If the number of applicants exceeds the planned number of students, adjustments will be made to ensure that everyone can enroll.
3． Courses offered (offered)
Tohoku Gakuin University offers the following courses. Please note that year-round courses run from April to January of the following year, first-semester courses from April to August, and second-semester courses from September to January of the following year. (For details, please refer to the academic calendar.)
4. Regarding applications, etc.
- Eligibility Requirements
- Students from universities participating in the agreement concerning the Sendai City Credit Transfer Network who have received permission from their home university (hereinafter referred to as the "sending university").
- Application documents

- Application form for credit transfer students (special auditing students)
- Students who wish to take a course should submit the "(Common Form No. 1) Application Form for Credit Transfer Students (Special Auditing Students)" to the credit transfer office of the host university by the deadline set by the host university.
- Request for Acceptance
- The host university will select special auditing students based on the submitted application forms and should submit the "(Common Form No. 2) Acceptance Request Form" and other necessary documents to the Academic Affairs Office at Tohoku Gakuin University's Tsuchitoi Campus by the application deadline.

Please submit the "(Common Form No. 4) Course Registration Form" along with the acceptance request form. This will complete your course registration. At that time, please also submit one photograph (4cm high x 3cm wide). - Acceptance Decision Notice
- Applicants will be notified of the acceptance decision through their affiliated university.
5. Course Period
The period must be within one year and will be the academic year or semester in which the course you wish to take is offered.
6. Course Overview
Please refer to the syllabus website for course outlines.
7. Credit Recognition
Based on the academic transcript issued by this university, it will be certified by your affiliated university.
8. Entrance fee and tuition fee
We do not charge entrance fees, tuition fees, or processing fees.
9. Student ID card for special auditing students
As a general rule, students transferring credits will be issued a "Special Auditing Student ID (with photo)" similar to those of Tohoku Gakuin University, and will be handed out at the Academic Affairs Office counter on the relevant campus. Please be sure to pick it up before the first class.
10. Use of university facilities
You can use the facilities and equipment necessary for your coursework (library, cafeteria, etc.). Please be sure to carry your "Special Auditing Student ID" with you when using these facilities.
11. How to get to school
Commuting by car is not permitted at this university. Please refer to the campus map (attached) and use public transportation.
12. Others
- Tohoku Gakuin University is divided into two campuses, so please check the location of your classes. For classroom layouts, please refer to the campus map (separately provided).
- As a general rule, announcements to students will be made through on-campus bulletin boards (for each faculty/department, etc.) or through the relevant departments at your university. Please be sure to check the bulletin boards regularly while on campus.

Sendai Satellite Campus
A groundbreaking initiative by a university and a local government.
Since April 2004, the "Sendai Academic City Satellite Campus" has been established in the heart of Sendai City. This is a base established jointly by universities affiliated with the "Sendai Academic City Credit Transfer Network" and the city of Sendai, which has actively supported lifelong learning, to implement a credit transfer system between universities (including those open to the public) and to conduct public lectures.
A satellite campus is a facility that sets up classrooms in a location separate from the university, opening them up not only to students but also to the general public to provide a wider range of learning opportunities.
Activate the unit exchange network functionality.
As mentioned earlier, universities in the Sendai area have formed the "Sendai Academic City Credit Transfer Network" and implemented a "credit transfer system." However, due to the fact that each university is located in the suburbs, it has been difficult for students to easily utilize this system. With the opening of this satellite campus, however, students can now take their desired courses at a satellite campus in the city center without having to travel to another university far away.
Furthermore, by creating an environment where general citizens, not just students, can take credit-transferable courses and open lectures, we aim to meet the lifelong learning needs of the public. The use of satellite campuses should allow students to take classes at other universities while also interacting with working adults.
Credit transfer subjects
Universities affiliated with the "Sendai Academic City Credit Transfer Network" offer courses. Semester courses consist of one lecture per week for 15 weeks, while year-long courses consist of one lecture per week for 15 weeks in the first semester and 15 weeks in the second semester, totaling 30 weeks. Students who pass the exams and other requirements will receive credits. Students of our university can take these courses free of charge as students of universities that have signed an agreement with the Sendai Academic City Credit Transfer Network.
Public Lectures
This is a public lecture series for the general public, and anyone can attend.
