Tohoku Gakuin University's employment prospects

Individualized support for each student

The Career Support Department has experienced staff and professional career counselors with national qualifications who provide careful support tailored to each individual's needs.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, companies have begun using online methods for their recruitment processes, and recruitment activities have become earlier and longer-term. The Career Support Department provides support to students, both online and in person, to help alleviate their anxieties and problems. This includes career counseling, resume review and advice (a crucial part of the recruitment process), and mock interview practice, all tailored to the students' needs.

In addition, we provide a "career support website" that can be used outside of the university to assist with job hunting, and we also disseminate various information related to job hunting through LINE and other channels.

Tohoku Gakuin University Network

Celebrating its 140th anniversary, Tohoku Gakuin University boasts over 200,000 alumni, with alumni association branches and company-specific TG associations throughout Japan. Many Tohoku Gakuin University graduates hold top positions in leading local companies, and the university ranks for the number of company presidents are number one not only in Miyagi Prefecture but also in the entire Tohoku region. Having numerous alumni in various companies makes it easy to gather information, providing a significant boost to job-hunting efforts. Graduates of this university, in particular, have strong connections and a sense of camaraderie, which sometimes leads to business opportunities.

A comprehensive database

The Career Support Office has a resource corner where you can freely browse application forms for civil service positions, newspapers, and books related to job hunting. Some books are also available for loan to students. The office also keeps "examination reports" as resources, which are compiled from the selection processes and interview questions that previous students have actually experienced, and they are available to read at any time. The "Career Support Website" allows you to easily search for information on over 20,000 companies and over 40,000 job postings.

TG employment support course

We offer job placement support seminars for students aiming for prestigious companies, including major corporations and other highly-regarded firms, where securing a job can be challenging. We also provide specialized courses taught by experienced instructors for students aspiring to become announcers or cabin attendants.

Establishment of online individual consultation rooms for job hunting.

With the support of the Tohoku Gakuin University Alumni Association, we have set up four individual online rooms to provide a comfortable environment for students who may have concerns about their internet connection or other factors when participating in online company information sessions and interviews, thereby supporting students' job-hunting activities.
