We offer various courses and seminars to support job-seeking activities.

Whether students intend to become teachers, civil servants, or work for private companies, the Career Support Department provides maximum support to all students who plan to enter the workforce after graduation. Starting with raising awareness in the first year, we gradually begin preparations and hold guidance sessions, seminars, and various preparation courses to ensure that everyone can smoothly transition into full-fledged job hunting.

Job and Career Support Guidance

Starting in April of their third year, students receive more in-depth explanations from staff members of the Career Support Department and external lecturers regarding their mindset towards employment, specific methods of job hunting, and information on company recruitment.

Career Talk Cafe

This event is held for all students in all grades to improve their career awareness. We invite alumni and other working professionals to speak not only about the appeal of their companies, but also about their personal work styles and lifestyles.

Joint Job Information Session for Public Employees

We invite recruitment officers from government agencies and local municipalities to explain trends and strategies for recruitment exams, as well as the specific details of their work. (This event is for students who aspire to become civil servants.)

Civil service exam preparation course (fee required)

We offer civil service exam preparation courses taught by experienced instructors, specifically for students aspiring to become civil servants. The courses begin with an introductory course for first-year students, and then continue in earnest during the spring break of the second year. Multiple courses are available to gradually improve students' proficiency right up until they take the civil service exam.

Interview with a prospective employee

We are holding a job-hunting experience sharing session by fourth-year students who have just received job offers. You can hear about the challenges they faced during the process, the questions they were asked in job interviews, and other up-to-date information, which will be very helpful as a starting point for your own job search.

Resume and application form editing support

Resumes and application forms are central to the initial screening process, and you must write something that will get you selected from among many other applicants in order to even get to the written exam or interview. Therefore, it is essential that your content makes recruiters think, "I want to meet this person." The Career Support Department provides resume and application form review support by staff members and external career counselors, and many students utilize this service.

Interview preparation support

We provide interview preparation support through staff members of the Job Placement and Career Support Department and external career counselors. In the form of mock interviews, we provide advice on interview manners and mindset, whether you are answering questions accurately, and whether you are speaking logically.

Group Discussion/Group Debate Practice

An increasing number of companies are incorporating group discussions and debates into their selection processes as a way to assess communication skills. To prepare for this, we regularly hold workshops where students actually discuss a set topic with each other, and we explain and provide feedback on speaking and listening skills, how to reach conclusions, and other relevant aspects.

TG Internship & Industry Research Fair

An internship is a system in which students gain work experience related to their future careers at companies and other organizations. Through this work experience, students can gain a real understanding of how companies and society operate and establish their own professional perspectives. At our university, we hold an internship fair before the summer break, which also serves as an industry research opportunity, to increase students' motivation to participate in internships and to provide them with opportunities to do so.

Tohoku Gakuin Job Fair

This is an on-campus joint company information session held for third-year students (new fourth-year students) after the lifting of the ban on public relations activities on March 1st. Fifty companies exhibit, explaining their appeal and job descriptions. Students can efficiently gather information and compare options in one day. We invite companies from a wide range of industries to participate, aiming to facilitate better matches between students and companies.

Job-seeking consultation meeting for parents

This event is held for the parents of second and third-year students, with the aim of explaining the current job market and job-hunting situation, as well as providing an opportunity for discussion with faculty members. It also offers an opportunity to hear firsthand accounts from fourth-year students who have received job offers, helping parents understand the job-hunting process better.
