Role of the Student Affairs Department

The Student Affairs Department carries out the following tasks to ensure that students can have a meaningful university life.

1. Counseling and support services covering all aspects of student life.
2. Financial assistance to students (such as scholarship loans)
3. Advice and guidance for students' extracurricular activities
4. Student health management and health consultations (including regular health checkups)

In addition to these roles, they also act as a liaison between students and the university, listening to students' opinions and conveying the university's perspectives to them.

Student General Assembly

As the highest decision-making body of the student council, the Student General Assembly is held twice a year (May and November). At the Student General Assembly, the student council's activity policies and activity reports are presented, various issues concerning the university are discussed, and important matters such as student council events are decided. This Student General Assembly is a valuable opportunity for students to directly express their questions and concerns about university life. The opinions and requests expressed here are conveyed to the university, and numerous revisions have been made as a result.

Regular match

Regular match against Aoyama Gakuin University

As the campus begins to sprout new greenery, the regular intercollegiate sports competition between Aoyama Gakuin University (Tokyo) and our university is held. Since the first competition in 1950, the two universities have taken turns hosting the event, and the three-day competition in late May brings together teams through sports. The regular competition includes approximately 30 official events, as well as open events. The overall winner is determined by the number of wins and losses in the official events.

Regular match against Hokkai Gakuen University

The regular match against Hokkai Gakuen University (Sapporo) is held every year in late June. Since the first tournament in 1955, our university has consistently won the overall championship. In addition to the exchange of athletes through the competition, we also have university-level exchanges with Hokkai Gakuen University, such as credit transfer.

Award

Our university has a system in place to recognize students who understand the founding principles and achieve particularly outstanding academic results as scholarship or honor student recipients. This system is in place to encourage students to dedicate themselves to their studies while pursuing the original purpose of the university. In addition, the university presents the President's Award to groups and individuals who achieve outstanding results in sports, cultural activities, etc., and the awards and achievements are posted on the university's website and official social media accounts.

University festival

In the fall, university festivals are held on each campus with great fanfare. These festivals are primarily organized by cultural groups, who showcase the results of their daily activities through presentations, exhibitions, concerts, and more. The university festivals are managed by the university festival executive committee, which provides various forms of support to participating groups and organizes events based on their own plans.

University Festival (Rokkencho Festival)

The university festival will be held at the Tsuchitoi Campus (1-3-1 Tsuchitoi, Aoba-ku, Sendai City). The name "Rokkencho Festival" comes from the fact that the area where the Tsuchitoi Campus is located was formerly known as "Rokkencho".

joint council

The Joint Council is a forum where requests decided at student general assemblies and other events can be directly communicated to the university for discussion. The university side is represented by the president and other faculty and staff members, who listen to the requests from students compiled by the student council. To date, the installation of air conditioning in classrooms and libraries, and the extension of facility usage hours have been realized.
