Student Payment Exemption System

Tohoku Gakuin University is a university designated and confirmed by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare as a special administrative corporation for student tuition payment exemptions. It accepts applications for student tuition payment exemptions with the aim of creating an environment that makes it easy for students to apply for these exemptions and to secure students' right to receive pension benefits.

Student Payment Exemption System

The Student Payment Exemption System is a system that allows students aged 20 or older who have low incomes and find it difficult to pay their national pension insurance premiums (hereinafter referred to as "premiums") to have their premium payments deferred upon application by the student themselves.

Just in case something unexpected happens...

Pensions are not just for retirement; in the event of illness or injury resulting in a disability, you may be eligible to receive a disability basic pension. However, if you haven't paid your insurance premiums, or if you haven't applied for the student payment exemption, you may not be eligible to receive a disability basic pension.

There is a possibility of injury during extracurricular activities, so students who have not yet completed the necessary procedures should apply for this protection.

Regarding the procedure

The "Application Form for Special Exemption for Student Payment of National Pension Insurance Premiums" can be obtained at the Student Affairs and Welfare Section counter on each campus.

*Bringing your Basic Pension Number Notification or other document showing your Basic Pension Number, as well as your student ID, will help expedite the process.
