Our university considers every faculty member, staff member, and student to be an important member of the university community, and in order to create and maintain a good educational environment, we take a firm stance against harassment.

Harassment is a serious offense that infringes upon an individual's dignity and hinders the formation of a positive educational environment. Our university's harassment guidelines define harassment as follows: "Sexual harassment" is an act that causes harm to a person by engaging in offensive sexual remarks or behavior against their will, or by worsening the educational or work environment within the university through sexually offensive remarks or behavior. "Power harassment" is an act in the workplace that infringes upon a person's dignity or personality by engaging in remarks or behavior based on one's position or influence, causing physical or mental distress to the person or worsening their working environment. "Academic harassment" is an act in an educational or research setting that infringes upon a person's dignity or personality by engaging in remarks or behavior based on one's position or influence, causing physical or mental distress to the person or worsening the educational or research environment. In addition to the above, any inappropriate act that infringes upon an individual's dignity or personality and hinders the formation of a positive educational or work environment constitutes harassment.

To prevent harassment, our university has established a Harassment Prevention Committee and has professional counselors on campus to handle complaints and consultations. If you have been a victim of harassment, or if you have witnessed or heard about such harassment, please be brave and consult with a counselor, the Student Affairs Office (Student Welfare Section), or the Student Health Support Center (Student Counseling Room). Recently, there has been an increase in traffic accidents involving cars, motorcycles, and bicycles at our university.

Bicycles, in particular, are an affordable and convenient mode of transportation, but please be aware that they are classified as "light vehicles" to which traffic laws apply when you ride them.

Furthermore, pedestrians should be aware that disorderly walking behavior (such as walking spread out, strolling aimlessly, and ignoring traffic signals) contributes to traffic congestion and accidents.

Nationwide, the amount of compensation paid due to driver negligence is increasing. Whether you are the perpetrator or the victim of an accident, injuries and compensation payments can prevent you from continuing your studies, so please be extremely careful to avoid traffic accidents.

Excessive revving of motorcycles in parking areas and late-night noise in apartment buildings can lead to complaints from neighbors. Please be mindful of your behavior and avoid causing inconvenience to your neighbors.

Even on campus, you are responsible for managing your own belongings. In the event of theft, please report it immediately to the Student Affairs Office (Student Welfare Section) and be extra careful in the future. Pay particular attention to locking your bicycle or motorcycle. Also, always carry your valuables with you.

Students who live away from their parents in apartments or other accommodations must live in a way that does not cause trouble for their neighbors. There are also rules regarding how to sort and dispose of garbage. In principle, garbage must be sorted and put out in designated garbage bags for the area on the designated days for that area.

It goes without saying that smoking is bad for your health. It is known that smokers have a higher incidence of various malignant tumors, including lung cancer, as well as diseases such as angina and myocardial infarction, compared to non-smokers.

Everyone understands that smoking has a hundred disadvantages and no advantages, but once you develop a smoking habit, you become addicted to the nicotine in cigarettes and it becomes very difficult to quit.

Furthermore, there is the problem of passive smoking, where non-smokers inhale secondhand smoke and are affected by toxic substances that are as harmful as, or even more harmful than, those who smoke themselves. Smoking is a personal choice, but if you do smoke, please be considerate of non-smokers and act responsibly, being mindful of minimizing the impact on those around you. Naturally, smoking is prohibited by law for those under 20 years of age.
