Engineering is a field of study that develops technologies to enrich the lives of humankind and returns them to society, based on an understanding of fundamental sciences such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry. It often deals with applied research that is directly related to daily life, and one of the characteristics of the field is that the developed technologies are accepted by society in a relatively short cycle.
Located on a single campus in the heart of Sendai, our university offers opportunities for interaction that transcends departmental and academic boundaries, allowing students to absorb the perspectives and essential elements necessary for implementing developed technologies in society, including those related to economics, management, and law.
We hope that students will consider, from a broad perspective, what technologies are necessary for the happiness of Japan, the world, and humanity, and that through foundational lectures and research activities, they will hone their own sensibilities and senses, fostering a mindset for new technological development.
