Reskilling and Recurrent Education at Tohoku Gakuin University

I. Adult admission to undergraduate and Graduate Schools

① Graduate Schools
To create an environment where working adults can easily learn while working, we will implement the following:
  • Special entrance examination for working adults (an entrance examination for working adults, in which applicants are comprehensively evaluated and selected based on document review and interviews)
  • Hybrid learning (part of the class can be taken online)
  • Class schedule (including daytime, evening, and Saturday hours)
  • Long-Term Study System (A system designed for individuals with jobs or those whose research time is constrained by childcare or elder care responsibilities. Within the limits of the standard enrollment period, students can consult with their academic advisor to determine a one-year study period, systematically complete the curriculum, and achieve graduation.)
② Faculty
To create an environment where working adults can easily learn, we will implement the following:
  • Special Selection for Working Adults (An entrance examination for those who have graduated from high school or secondary school, or who have passed the High School Equivalency Examination, in which candidates are comprehensively evaluated through an essay, document review, and interview.)
  • Some courses are available on-demand (with a limit on the number of credits you can take).

II. Auditor System

As part of improving your general knowledge and continuing your lifelong learning, you can audit undergraduate courses. The courses you can audit are designated in advance for each faculty and department.

III. Non-degree students

This system provides learning opportunities for working adults who are not currently enrolled at this university, evaluates their learning outcomes, and grants them academic credits.
