- Young people, our ideal country is
Oh, Tohoku Gakuin, the city of green leaves.
* (return)
Praise the light of the world, my pride, my friends.
All voices together, our academy - If you follow the main road
The Fountain of Wisdom Blossoms at Tohoku Gakuin - Let us go, cultivating the Yamato spirit
Blooming in God's love, oh Tohoku Gakuin - A true man who sacrificed his life
Where is it sung about? Ah, Tohoku Gakuin. - Mother of teachings, your heart
To the very ends of the earth, ah Tohoku Gakuin
Fair Gakuin
Windows Media Player (WMA:2.2MB)
- Where Hirose rippling flows
And the purple hagi seeds,
There's a place that's all the world to me, to me
There my Alma Mater stand
And with open outstretched hands
A giving of her light to all men freely.
(※repeat)
Oh the Gakuin so fair,
Not another can compare.
She's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
So let's sing this merry lay,
And to her our homage pay,
And cheer her till the echoes round us roll. - From the east and from the west
With their faces full of zest,
Come the eager youth of all the land.
Yes, they come to learn the way
How to engage and how to play
And how for freedom and for right to stand.
(※repeat) - Then wherever we may be
On the land or on the sea,
Ne'er shall we forget her glorious name, her name.
And to her we'll be loyal
In fondest memory
We'll cherish and enhance her lasting fame.
(※repeat)
About the origin of the school song
The school song currently sung, which begins with "Young people, our ideal country is...", was created in June 1921 by E.H. Zog and Yoshio Aoki.
Professor E.H. Zog of the Faculty of Theology was so musically gifted that he also taught in the music department. Responding to popular demand, he collaborated with Yoshio Aoki, a middle school English teacher who was Professor Zog's assistant, to create the school song.
First, "Fair Gakuin," with lyrics (in English) and music composed by Mr. Zorg, was completed, followed by a Japanese translation by Mr. Yoshio Aoki. This is how the current school song, "Young people, we...", consisting of five verses, was completed.

- Flowers bloom profusely in our schoolhouse; we are now in the spring of the human age.
With boundless hope, Jehovah fears on this hill.
A wellspring of knowledge that cannot be drawn. - The sky above our school is high, and we are now in the spring of the human age.
In the hope of becoming the foundation of the earth, I have abandoned the easy way on this hill.
Strengthen both mind and body. - The bells of our school ring out, and we now enter the springtime of human life.
Looking up at the chapel tower, I straighten my collar and remember the past.
I wonder what the future holds

- People of all nations, facing our lord
Rejoice and celebrate with all your heart. - The Lord is God, the Lord is my master.
We are their people, the sheep of Mimaki. - Together, they praised the Emperor's name.
Enter the palace and approach it. - Grace is abundant, yet compassion does not cease,
Such unparalleled truth will never change.
