When we see or hear the word "international," and imagine people who are fluent in English succeeding abroad, it might seem like something special, but in reality, "international" is all around us. For example, it's not uncommon for stores to have employees from other countries, and the number of foreign students in elementary schools is increasing. Also, trends and problems that occur overseas can spread to Japan, and vice versa. In other words, "international" comes to us even without going abroad. It's not something limited to special people. In Faculty of International Studies, we aim to cultivate individuals who can understand the various phenomena that occur in a globalized society and think about what they can do. Foreign languages are useful skills when taking any kind of action, so incoming students will continuously study one of the following: English, Chinese, or Korean. At the same time, they can deepen their learning according to their interests, such as the diversity of languages and cultures, the politics, economics, and management of a globalized society, and the society and history of neighboring countries such as China and South Korea.
