Computer and network usage
Users of the information processing facilities at this university must observe the following precautions.
1. General Precautions
- You must not engage in any actions that violate laws or school regulations.
- You must not engage in any act that violates public order and morals.
- You must not infringe upon the human rights of others (including respect for privacy).
- You must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Commercial activities are prohibited.
- You must not access computers without authorization, whether on or off campus.
- Furthermore, you must not engage in any behavior that inconveniences others. You must also take care to avoid being inconvenienced by others.
2. Notes on using email and the web
- Unauthorized reproduction (copying) that infringes intellectual property rights is prohibited.
- You must not disseminate or publish information that violates public order and morals.
- You must not disseminate or publish information that defames or slanders others.
- You must not share or disclose information about other people without their permission.
- You must not use someone else's name to disseminate or publish information.
- You must not spread or publish false information (such as rumors).
- You must not send chain emails or large volumes of emails indiscriminately.
3. Precautions for ensuring security
- Do not set a password that is easily guessable.
- Make sure your password is not known to others.
- Change your password regularly.
- Do not allow others to use your user account and password.
- Do not use someone else's user account and password.
- If you receive an email from an unknown sender or an email containing suspicious content, contact the administrator of the facility in question.
- Personal computers that may connect to information processing facilities under the university's jurisdiction must have a virus check program installed.
4. Other Notes
- Damaging or removing any equipment, supplies, or software belonging to this university without permission is prohibited.
- You must not change the settings of hardware or software under the jurisdiction of this university without permission.
- You must not copy, delete, or modify other people's files or directories without their permission.
- When installing personally owned hardware or software on a computer managed by this university, permission from the computer administrator must be obtained in advance.
