Faculty of Economics aims to provide students with a broad general education and specialized knowledge of economics. To achieve this objective, the curricula of Department of Economics and Department of Co-existing Society Studies are systematically organized.

Department of Economics

• We aim to cultivate individuals who can thrive in society by teaching them about the workings of the economic and social system.
• A curriculum that allows you to broadly study both the theory and practice of economics.
• You can learn in depth about the Tohoku economy.
• Special lectures by external instructors.
• Emphasis on small-group instruction in "Comprehensive Exercises" and "Exercises."

Department of Co-existing Society Studies (Admissions suspended from April 2023)

• We aim to cultivate individuals who can develop empathy and think and act altruistically.
• A unique curriculum that combines economics with the theory of symbiotic society.
• Fieldwork provides hands-on experience in support and interaction.
• To understand and reflect on current economic and social issues such as multicultural coexistence and inequality, and to develop the ability to identify and solve problems that are relevant to reality.
• A "personalized" education that takes advantage of the characteristics of a small department.
