Research topic

Representations of the "Other" in British Restoration Drama. My research focuses primarily on the works of Aphra Behn, exploring what is represented as the "Other" within the context of Restoration drama. For example, "women," "Black people," or "country bumpkins." I mainly study the discourse influences behind these representations. I am also interested in Shakespearean plays, one of the roots of British Restoration drama.
