■Research Themes
  • Activity of the black hole at the center of the galaxy
  • Development of X-ray CCD detectors
■Information science seminar (3rd year)

In the Information Science Exercises, you will learn simple data processing techniques using space science as a theme.

Using the folding process to determine the rotation period of pulsars, which are rapidly rotating stars, as a case study, we will actually perform the process using our own software with the help of a library. Furthermore, we will build the completed data processing software into a web application and make it easy to use with a user-friendly interface.

■ Comprehensive Research (4th year students)

In our comprehensive research program, we will focus on themes related to space.

  • Satellite data analysis
  • Development of educational and public relations tools
  • Digital circuit programming

We find themes from fields such as these and proceed with our research. So far, we have been working on projects such as a "planetarium using a projector" that makes even faint stars visible by magnification, a "limiting magnitude evaluation system" that determines the constellations in photographs of stars and finds out what magnitude of stars are visible, and a "directional search type constellation information display system" that determines the constellation in the direction pointed to by a pointer and displays related information.
