This is a study abroad program where students study at overseas universities with which our university has student exchange agreements, completing a regular course for six months (one semester) or one year (two semesters).

Our university recruits and sends exchange students twice a year, coinciding with the start of the academic term at their host country.

• Phase I Exchange Program:
  Study abroad programs begin in August to October (applications open around January).
• Phase II Exchange Program:
  Study abroad programs begin between January and March (applications accepted around June of the previous year).

Studying abroad at a foreign university other than a partner institution, as approved by the president of this university, is called "approved study abroad." Similar to exchange programs, the study abroad period is limited to one year and counts towards the period of enrollment at this university. Furthermore, it is possible to apply for this university's study abroad scholarship program and credit transfer system (a system that recognizes credits earned abroad as graduation credits at this university).

To participate in an approved study abroad program, you must first submit an "Application for Approved Study Abroad Program" to the International Exchange Division, along with the acceptance letter from your desired university and other necessary documents. After approval from your department/faculty, you must then obtain certification from the university president. Please prepare to submit the "Application for Approved Study Abroad Program" at least four months before your planned study abroad date.

Please note that only universities that meet the following criteria are eligible as study abroad destinations: ① have the authority to grant degrees, ② have the same or similar faculty, department, or graduate school as your current affiliation at this university, and ③ require TOEFL or other language test scores as an admission requirement. Language schools and vocational schools are not eligible, so please be aware of this.

Students wishing to participate in an accredited study abroad program should consult with the International Exchange Office well in advance, as the on-campus procedures take time.
