Furthermore, in recent years, with various societal changes, integrated education is expanding not only between junior and senior high schools, but also between elementary and junior high schools. In this transformation of school education, holding teaching licenses for multiple school levels is a significant advantage for anyone pursuing a teaching career.
- I can't play the piano or swim; is that okay?
- We provide an environment where students can acquire knowledge and skills related to piano playing, swimming, and physical education activities such as gymnastics, not only through classroom lessons but also in various other ways. We support even complete beginners so that they can clear the tasks required for teacher recruitment examinations.
- Will I be unable to keep up with the classes if my English skills aren't high enough?
- We provide instruction tailored to your level upon enrollment to ensure your English skills develop steadily. By the time of your teaching practice, dedicated faculty members, including native speakers, will systematically support you in acquiring the English proficiency necessary to appropriately teach English in elementary and junior high schools.
- Is it impossible to graduate without obtaining a teaching license?
- This program aims to help students obtain teaching licenses for elementary school and junior/senior high school (English), but it is also possible to graduate without obtaining a teaching license. The knowledge, skills, and attitudes learned in Department of Education can be utilized in various fields and situations in society.
- I would like to study abroad for an extended period. Is that possible?
- Our university has a long-term exchange program with partner universities overseas, including those in the United States, Australia, and South Korea, and students in Department of Education are also eligible to participate. If you do not aim to obtain a teaching license, or if you only aim to obtain a teaching license for junior high school or high school (English), you can graduate in four years. If you intend to obtain all three types of teaching licenses—elementary school and junior high school/high school (English)—please consult with your academic advisor to plan your study abroad program.
