Initiatives and Activities

Governance initiatives at our university

Tohoku Gakuin Educational Corporation, based on its founding principles, namely "education that emphasizes individual dignity and character development based on the faith of the Reformation's 'Evangelical Christianity'," and Article 3 of its Articles of Incorporation, which states "to maintain the principle of providing moral education based on Christianity, and to provide kindergarten education, junior high school education, high school education, and university education in accordance with the Fundamental Law of Education and the School Education Law," has established the "Tohoku Gakuin Educational Corporation Governance Code" in accordance with the "Private University Governance Code" established and published by the Japan Federation of Private Universities, in order to operate the educational corporation and each of its affiliated schools autonomously while ensuring autonomy and independence.

Our university will also comply with the "Tohoku Gakuin Educational Corporation Governance Code." Furthermore, we will review our compliance with the "Basic Principles," "Compliance Principles," and "Priority Items" of this Governance Code, and compile the results into a compliance review report which will be published.
