Philosophy/purpose

We aim to cultivate individuals who can contribute to human dignity by utilizing their legal knowledge and legal thinking.
Furthermore, in order to clearly express our philosophy and educational objectives, we have adopted the following mottos in both Japanese and English.
"Legal knowledge and legal thinking, for the sake of human dignity."
“Think legally, for human dignity”

Educational goals

1. The ability to live life independently,

3. Liberal arts that allow you to view law from a broad perspective,

5. To instill in students a spirit of service to their neighbors (others and society).

Goals of human resource development

1. While utilizing legal expertise, our primary focus is on human dignity, and we aim to cultivate individuals who earn the trust of society through such humanity.
2. To cultivate individuals who, as private citizens, can demonstrate leadership while utilizing their legal expertise in their local communities and activities.

Desired student profile

1. The academic ability in the fundamental subjects of learning, Japanese language, foreign language (English), and civics, reaches the level studied in Faculty of Law.
2. He has the habit of reading books and newspapers regularly, and through this he has developed an interest and knowledge in law and politics.
3. Students have goals for the future, understand the content of Faculty of Law 's studies necessary to achieve those goals, and are highly motivated to study.
4. You can explain things logically and express them in your own words.

Goal to reach

Introduction

Department of Law is the only department within Faculty of Law, and its educational objectives and basic policies for degree conferral are no different from those of Faculty of Law already outlined. However, since these expressions are undeniably abstract, we will first present the common learning objectives expected of students studying in Department of Law within the Faculty Faculty of Law, from three perspectives: (1) knowledge and understanding, (2) skills and techniques, and (3) awareness and attitudes.

Next, we will present the learning objectives for each course, in line with the flexible course structure presented as a model curriculum by Department of Law.

I. Common Objectives of the Department

1. Knowledge/understanding

Students will acquire specialized knowledge and thinking skills in law and be able to use them to analyze various social problems.

2. Technology/skills

I can develop solutions to various social problems from a legal perspective and explain them in my own words.

3. Awareness/Attitude

To develop an attitude of respecting others and contributing to the formation of a free and just society.

II. Achievement goals for each course

1. Policy and Administration Course

By acquiring broad knowledge of law and political science, focusing on legal and political issues related to administrative agencies and the relationship between administrative agencies and citizens/private sectors, students can become individuals who can contribute to policies that realize the public interest.

2. Corporate Legal Affairs Course

By acquiring a legal mindset and applying the legal analytical and judgment skills cultivated at university to corporate activities and daily life as a citizen, one can become a person who contributes to society (from the perspective of legal risk management and legal compliance).

3. Legal Professional Course

By studying fundamental laws, primarily the six major legal codes, students can acquire a broad range of legal expertise and thinking skills necessary for legal professions, enabling them to become successful professionals.
