Department of Policy Design aims to cultivate and produce leaders who will take on the responsibility of solving regional issues. For those of you who want to protect and revitalize the regions you have a connection to, the learning you will gain in this department will surely be beneficial.

Of course, the term "regional issues" encompasses a wide range of challenges, including a declining birthrate and aging population, population migration to urban centers, economic decline, widening inequality and poverty, coexistence with people from different countries and cultures, and disaster recovery. Therefore, we have assembled a more diverse group of researchers than any other university or department, and we offer a wide variety of engaging learning opportunities to cater to whatever interests you may have.

Solving local issues requires the ability to freely develop ideas like an artist, and to use those ideas to resonate with and inspire the local people. Only through cooperation and collaboration can a community begin to move and change. Some may find it difficult to approach, but this is the sentiment behind the name "Department of Policy Design."
