Adoption due to sudden change in household finances

System Overview

1. Target

Undergraduate students whose household finances have drastically changed due to specific reasons such as the death of the primary breadwinner or involuntary unemployment.

2. Types of support

This system allows you to receive both of the following benefits simultaneously.

Tuition fee reduction/exemption Subtract the reduction amount from the tuition fee.
  • *If you have already paid tuition fees, the reduced amount will be refunded.

4. Application requirements, selection criteria, etc.
5. Conditions for continuation

Each year, if eligibility for support is confirmed based on the results of (1) to (3) below, continued receipt of funds for the following semester is possible. Funds can be received up to the expected graduation date.

  1. Enrollment Report
    Time: Every April
    Submission instructions: Notices will be posted on MYTG for eligible participants.
  2. Eligibility Certification (Household)
    Timing: Generally every three months (once a year after submitting income verification documents for 12 months or more).

  3. Eligibility assessment (academic performance, etc.)

How to apply

1. Application deadline

Applications must be submitted within three months of the date the sudden change occurred (or within three months of enrollment if the sudden change occurred before enrollment).

*Please note that the application period is shorter every year in March due to the end of the fiscal year. Particular caution is advised if a sudden change in household finances occurs in mid-to-late December of the current fiscal year.
