I. About the Teacher Training Program
In order to become a teacher at a kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, secondary school, or special needs school as defined in Article 1 of the School Education Act, one must possess a teaching license (hereinafter referred to as "license").
This license is granted to individuals who have acquired the required credits in prescribed subjects at a university program accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in accordance with the Teacher Certification Act and the Enforcement Regulations of the Teacher Certification Act, and who possess the necessary basic qualifications, upon application to the relevant prefectural board of education.
Our university's teacher training program is designed for students who strongly aspire to become teachers in the future, and is not simply a superficial program aimed at obtaining a teaching license.
To obtain a teaching license, you must complete certain courses in addition to your graduation credits. Therefore, it is necessary to plan your coursework systematically from your first year. Failure to acquire the required credits in a given year may make it difficult to complete courses in subsequent years. Therefore, please refer to the curriculum schedule and other relevant documents to fully understand the content before undertaking the teacher training program. If you have any questions, please consult the relevant office.
Please note that students enrolled in the teacher training program are required to attend all orientations (pre- and post-course guidance) and guidance sessions listed on the annual schedule. Failure to attend without a valid reason may result in being treated as having forfeited the teacher training program.

At this university, each faculty and department offers a teacher training program, allowing students to obtain a teaching license by completing the required courses and earning the necessary credits.
While obtaining a teaching license doesn't necessarily guarantee teacher employment, many students from our university who are passionate about education have passed the teacher employment examination.
Looking at trends over the past few years, in addition to the traditionally strong middle and high school English programs, public schools have also seen success in elementary school subjects such as social studies, mathematics, commerce, and industry. Private schools also produce multiple successful candidates each year, demonstrating the excellent performance of our university's teacher recruitment exam candidates.
The Teacher Training Center provides strong support for those who dream of becoming teachers.
Behind these impressive achievements is, of course, the enthusiasm and motivation of each and every student aiming to become a teacher, but the university is also providing full support. As a support organization for students aiming to become teachers, we have established the "Teacher Training Center" (1st floor, Building 7, Tsuchitoi Campus) to provide consultation and learning support for students as they pursue teaching careers.
Specific examples include holding teacher recruitment exam preparation courses and lectures, as well as providing learning support at the teacher recruitment consultation desk.
Furthermore, during the orientation for teaching practice, we invite current teachers to give lectures on how to write lesson plans appropriate for each subject, among other preparatory guidance, before the teaching practice begins in the fourth year.
In addition, we provide a variety of services to support students aspiring to become teachers, including lending out magazines, materials, and practice question books related to teacher training and teacher recruitment exams, as well as DVDs about teaching practice.

- Teacher counseling service
- The Teacher Training Center has established a "Teacher Training Consultation Desk" in the Teacher Training Center Learning Support Room (Building 7, 1st floor) on Tsuchitoi Campus. At the "Consultation Desk," counselors (full-time teachers, former principals of elementary, junior high, and high schools) are available to provide various consultations and learning support for teacher training, from preparing for teacher training courses and teaching practice to preparing for teacher employment examinations.
- Lectures on teaching and sessions to hear experiences from senior teachers
- The Teacher Training Center holds lectures on teacher training for students of this university who aspire to become teachers. The lecturers include young teachers and former principals who are alumni of this university. Attendance is free for all lectures.
- Teacher recruitment exam preparation course (fee required)
- We offer a "Teacher Recruitment Exam Preparation Course" for students who intend to take the teacher recruitment exam.
With the establishment of Department of Education in the 2020 academic year, the curriculum has been further enhanced, and instruction is now provided by lecturers from both within and outside the university.
The following four courses are offered, and you can choose the course that best suits your needs.- Elementary School Comprehensive Course: For students aiming to become elementary school teachers (primarily from the second year).
- Throughout the year, students receive instruction while working through past exam questions for the elementary school teacher recruitment examination.
- Educational Liberal Arts Course: (Intensive lecture format) For all students aiming to become teachers.
- This course will be conducted by an external expert instructor. Through problem-solving exercises, participants will learn effective methods for studying for the teaching profession, while reviewing fundamental and important concepts in educational principles, educational psychology, and educational laws.
- Specialized Liberal Arts Course (English): For students aiming to become English teachers.

- This course provides instruction on fundamental English topics and teaches effective English learning methods. (5 sessions)
- Specialized Liberal Arts Course (Social Sciences): For students aiming to become social science teachers.

- We offer subject-specific instruction in junior high school social studies and high school (geography, history, and civics). (11 sessions)
*Partial financial assistance will be provided as a scholarship to those who enroll in the "Teacher Recruitment Examination Preparation Course."
