Izumi Campus Gymnasium Usage Regulations

(Purpose)

Article 1
  1. These regulations stipulate the necessary matters concerning the use of the gymnasium at Tohoku Gakuin University's Izumi Campus (hereinafter referred to as "the Gymnasium"), which is established by Tohoku Gakuin University (hereinafter referred to as "the University").

(user)

Article 2
  1. In principle, only students and staff of this university are permitted to use the gymnasium. However, this does not apply to those who have received permission from the Dean of Students.

(Usage time)

Article 3
  1. The operating hours for the gymnasium shall be as specified in each of the following categories. However, opening hours may be shortened during long holidays.
    1. Monday to Saturday: 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM
    2. Sundays and national holidays as defined by the Act on National Holidays (Act No. 178 of 1948): 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, use will not be permitted in any of the following cases:
    1. Worship time
    2. Class time
    3. In other cases where the Dean of Student Affairs deems it necessary to prohibit its use.

Article 4
  1. The gymnasium will be closed when deemed necessary by the university.

(Use during closure)

Article 5
  1. As a general rule, the use of the gymnasium during its closure is not permitted. However, this does not apply if permission is obtained from the Dean of Students.

(Usage categories and priority order)

Article 6
  1. The usage categories for the gymnasium are as follows, and the priority order for use is as listed in each category.
    1. Events organized by the university
    2. Regular physical education
    3. Extracurricular activities of the Athletic Association (including the Athletic Association of the Club Federation and the Athletic Association of Faculty of Engineering; the same applies hereinafter)
    4. Events organized by the student council
    5. Physical activities for students and faculty members
    6. Physical education activities for non-students

(Usage Procedure)

Article 7
  1. When using the gymnasium, the necessary procedures must be followed based on the usage categories specified in the preceding article.
  2. For extracurricular activities of athletic clubs, a monthly usage plan and usage request must be submitted to the Izumi Campus Athletic Office (hereinafter referred to as the "Athletic Office") or Tsuchitoi Campus Gymnasium Office by the 20th of the month prior to use, and permission must be obtained from the Dean of Students.
  3. For events organized by the student council, as well as athletic activities for students and staff, a usage request must be submitted to the athletic office at least one week before the intended use date, and permission must be obtained from the student affairs director.
  4. For athletic activities by non-university members, an application for use must be submitted to the Physical Education Office at least two weeks prior to the intended date of use, and permission must be obtained from the Dean of Students.
  5. Users must present their permit to the gymnasium office before use.

(Requirements to be observed)

Article 8
  1. The user must comply with the following:
    1. Please strictly adhere to the usage time.
    2. Do not engage in any conduct that disrupts public order or causes inconvenience to others.
    3. Do not damage the facilities, equipment, furnishings, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "facilities, etc.").
    4. Do not use for purposes other than those intended.
    5. You may not transfer or sublease the right to use the property to any third party.
    6. Outdoor shoes should be stored in the shoe rack, and clothing and personal belongings should be stored in the locker. Users are responsible for their own safekeeping.
    7. Take extra care to prevent the theft of valuables.
    8. Do not engage in commercial activities such as selling goods inside the gymnasium without permission.
    9. You must not engage in advertising, promotion, or solicitation of donations of money or goods.
    10. Drinking alcohol and smoking are prohibited inside the gymnasium and its affiliated facilities (hereinafter referred to as "inside the building").
    11. Do not drive vehicles or other vehicles into areas other than designated locations.
    12. For the use of fire within the building, a request for permission to use heating equipment must be submitted to the Physical Education Office or Tsuchitoi Campus Gymnasium Office before use begins, and permission must be obtained from the Dean of Students.
    13. If any facilities are lost or damaged, report it immediately to the physical education office.
    14. After use, please return the item to its original condition as soon as possible.
    15. Users are responsible for keeping the building clean and tidy both inside and out.
    16. Follow any other instructions from the physical education office and act responsibly.

(Cancellation or suspension of permission to use)

Article 9
  1. The gymnasium office may immediately revoke or suspend the use of the facility if the user falls under any of the following categories.
    1. When the user violates these regulations or any necessary instructions for management purposes.
    2. When it is deemed unsuitable for the maintenance and management of the gymnasium due to rainfall, freezing, construction work, etc.
    3. When other unavoidable circumstances arise.

(Compensation for damages)

Article 10
  1. If an employer intentionally or negligently causes loss or damage to a facility, they must compensate for the damage.

(Administrative)

Article 11
  1. All matters related to these regulations will be handled by the Student Affairs Division of the Student Services Department.

(Revision/Abolition)

Article 12
  1. Any amendment or repeal of these regulations shall be carried out by the President after deliberation by the Student Committee and subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
Supplementary Provisions
These regulations shall be amended and come into effect on April 1, 1989.
Supplementary Provisions (April 1, 2002)
These regulations shall come into effect on April 1, 2002.
Supplementary Provisions (July 1, 2011)
These regulations will be revised and come into effect on July 1, 2011.
Supplementary Provisions (Amended on January 10, 2018, No. 9)
These regulations shall come into effect on January 10, 2018, and shall apply from April 1, 2017.
Supplementary Provisions (Revised No. 19, February 7, 2020)
These regulations will come into effect on February 7, 2024, and will apply from April 1, 2023.
