Tohoku Gakuin School Corporation Pool Usage Regulations

(Purpose)

Article 1
  1. This regulation, based on Article 8, Paragraph 3 of the Tohoku Gakuin Educational Foundation's General Sports Ground Management Regulations (hereinafter referred to as the "Management Regulations"), stipulates the necessary matters concerning the use of the Tohoku Gakuin Educational Foundation Swimming Pool (hereinafter referred to as the "Pool").

(Usage Procedure)

Article 2
  1. When using the pool, you must follow the necessary procedures according to the following usage categories.
    1. Regular physical education
    2. extracurricular activities
    3. Physical education activities for students, pupils, kindergarten children, and faculty members belonging to the schools affiliated with this institution.
    4. In addition, physical activities by non-students that the Tohoku Gakuin Educational Foundation's General Sports Ground Management Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee") deems necessary.
  2. If any of the conditions in items 1 and 2 of the preceding paragraph apply, the applicant must submit a pool use permit application to the Student Affairs Division (hereinafter referred to as "Student Affairs Division") between one month and two weeks before the day the pool is to be used, and obtain permission.
  3. If the conditions in paragraph 1, item 3 apply, you must submit a pool usage permit application to the Student Affairs Office between two months and two weeks before the day you wish to use the pool, and obtain permission.
  4. If the conditions in Article 1, Item 4 apply, you must submit a pool usage permit application to the Student Affairs Office between two months and one month before the day you wish to use the pool, and obtain permission.

(Usage fees and payment methods)

Article 3
  1. External users who have been granted permission to use the pool through the procedures outlined in Article 4 of the preceding paragraph must pay the usage fee specified in Appendix 3 of the "Tohoku Gakuin University Regulations for the Use of Facilities, etc." to the Finance Department, Finance Division, using the designated method.
  2. Usage fees already paid will not be refunded.

(Reduction or exemption of usage fees)

Article 4
  1. The Dean of Students may, if deemed necessary due to special circumstances, waive all or part of the usage fee after deliberation by the committee.
  2. Those who wish to receive a reduction or exemption of usage fees pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph shall submit an application for reduction or exemption of usage fees to the Student Affairs Division in advance and make a request to the Director of Student Affairs.

(Guidance management)

Article 5
  1. For students using the swimming pool, the physical education teacher is responsible for supervising and managing their activities during regular physical education classes.
  2. For uses other than those described above, the person responsible for submitting the pool usage permit application will be the one responsible.

(Period and duration of use)

Article 6
  1. The pool will be open for use for five months, from May 1st to September 30th, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, use is not permitted on Sunday mornings.
  2. Individual pool use is generally limited to a maximum of two hours.
  3. Pool usage times may be changed at the discretion of the Dean of Student Affairs due to school events, weather, or other reasons.

(Use prohibited)

Article 7
  1. The Dean of Students will prohibit the use of the pool if any of the following circumstances occur:
    1. If the user does not follow the procedures stipulated in these regulations or the Tohoku Gakuin School Corporation General Sports Ground Management Regulations
    2. If the pool is unavailable due to malfunction, repair, water change, cleaning, etc.
    3. When the pool is unsuitable for use due to an outbreak of infectious disease, water pollution, low water temperature, etc.
    4. If the pool is unavailable due to weather, school events, etc.
    5. In addition, if the Dean of Students deems the use of the pool inappropriate for reasons other than those mentioned above.
  2. The specific reasons set forth in items 2 through 4 of the preceding paragraph shall be determined by the Student Committee.

(Requirements to be observed)

Article 8
  1. Users of the pool must comply with the following matters and follow the instructions of the supervisor in charge of guidance and management based on Article 5, Paragraph 1 or 2.
    • Please strictly adhere to the pool usage time.
    • Efforts should be made to maintain the pool in good condition.
    • Refrain from engaging in any conduct that may disrupt public order or harm public morals.
    • Do not cause any damage to the facilities, equipment, furnishings, etc.
    • Do not use the pool for any purpose other than those specified in the application for permission to use the pool.
    • Do not allow third parties to use the pool.
    • The safekeeping of valuables and other personal belongings is the responsibility of the pool user.
    • Commercial activities, such as selling goods, are prohibited within the pool facilities without permission.
    • Drinking alcohol, eating, and smoking are prohibited within the pool facilities.
    • Do not enter the pool area with your shoes on.
    • Do not drive vehicles or other vehicles into areas other than those designated.
    • Do not use open flames within the pool facilities.
    • Please return the pool to its original condition as soon as possible after use.
    • If any facilities, equipment, or furnishings are lost or damaged, you must immediately report it to the Student Affairs Office.
    • Please follow any other instructions from the Student Affairs Office.

(Accident prevention)

Article 9
  1. To prevent accidents while using the pool, users must comply with the following:
    1. Do not swim if you are feeling unwell.
    2. Perform thorough warm-up exercises before swimming.
    3. Avoid prolonged swimming or entering the water.
    4. While swimming, you must follow the instructions of the supervisor in accordance with Article 5, Paragraph 1 or 2.

(Disclaimer and Damages)

Article 10
  1. This hospital shall not be held liable for any accidents occurring within the swimming pool, except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence on the part of this hospital.
  2. Any user who intentionally or negligently destroys or damages facilities, equipment, furnishings, etc., shall be liable for compensation for the damages resulting therefrom.

(Open to the public)

Article 11
  1. The pool may be opened to the public for use by those affiliated with the hospital and those outside the university.
  2. The pool usage times based on the preceding paragraph will be announced in advance by the Student Affairs Office.
  3. Users of the pool during public access must comply with the matters stipulated in these regulations.

(Matters not covered by these regulations)

Article 12
  1. In addition to what is stipulated in these regulations, the Dean of Students shall decide on any necessary matters concerning the use of the pool and report them to the committee.

(Administrative)

Article 13
  1. All matters related to these regulations will be handled by the Student Affairs Division of the Student Services Department.

(Revision/Abolition)

Article 14
  1. Any amendments or repeals of these regulations shall be made by the Board of Directors after deliberation by the Committee.
Supplementary Provisions
These regulations shall come into effect on July 1, 1970.
