(Purpose)

Article 1

1. These regulations establish the necessary matters concerning the grant scholarship (hereinafter referred to as "this Graduate Schools") provided at Tohoku Gakuin Graduate Schools (hereinafter referred to as "this graduate school") to financially support working adult students who are motivated to balance work and studies.

(Qualification requirements)

Article 2

1. Students who are working adults and receive this scholarship (hereinafter referred to as "scholarship recipients") must meet all of the following requirements:
   1. Those enrolled in this Graduate Schools who understand the educational policies of Tohoku Gakuin University (hereinafter referred to as "the University"), have a strong desire to study, and possess excellent character.
   2. Those who have a certain occupation and pay for their tuition with their own earned income.
   3. For students other than those admitted in the year of enrollment, the number of credits earned in the previous year of the master's program or the first stage of the doctoral program must be 8 or more. For students enrolled in the later stage of the doctoral program, the number of credits earned is not a requirement, regardless of the year.

(Benefit amount)

Article 3

1. The amount of this scholarship will be 150,000 yen per student per semester.
2. The amount of this scholarship shall not exceed 600,000 yen in total for each scholarship recipient in the master's program and the first stage of the doctoral program, and 900,000 yen in total for the second stage of the doctoral program.

(Benefit period)

Article 4

1. The grant period shall be the first or second semester as stipulated in Article 10, Paragraph 1 of the Tohoku Gakuin Graduate Schools Regulations.

(Application period)

Article 5

1. Applications for this scholarship must be submitted within the application period designated by the university for each grant period as stipulated in the preceding article.

(Application documents)

Article 6

1. Applications for this scholarship must be submitted by submitting the following documents.
   1. Scholarship Application Form
   2. Certificate of employment (any format is acceptable)
   3. Other documents that the university may request

(Acceptance/Rejection and Notification)

Article 7

1. The decision regarding the selection of recipients of this scholarship will be made by the President of Tohoku Gakuin University after deliberation by the Tohoku Gakuin University Scholarship Foundation Management Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Management Committee").
2. After the decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the application in the preceding paragraph has been made, the applicant must be promptly notified of the result in the name of the Tohoku Gakuin University Scholarship Association President.

(Benefit restrictions)

Article 8

1. Those receiving a Tohoku Gakuin University grant scholarship are not eligible to receive this scholarship.

(Restrictions on teaching assistants)

Article 9

1. Those employed as teaching assistants at Tohoku Gakuin University are not eligible to receive this scholarship.

(Notification of change)

Article 10

1. If a scholarship recipient falls under any of the following categories, they must promptly submit a notification using the prescribed form.
   1. When a student takes a leave of absence or withdraws from school (excluding death).
   2. When declining this scholarship.

(Loss of eligibility for benefits)

Article 11

1. A recipient of this scholarship will lose their eligibility if they are found to fall under any of the following categories.
   1. When a student takes a leave of absence or withdraws from school (excluding death).
   2. When it is discovered that the applicant became a scholarship recipient by providing false information on the application documents.
   3. When the refusal of the benefit is approved.
   4. When disciplinary action is taken.

Article 12

1. The Tohoku Gakuin University Scholarship Association may require a scholarship recipient to repay any scholarship funds already disbursed during the semester if the recipient loses eligibility for the scholarship pursuant to the preceding article.

(Administrative)

Article 13

1. All matters related to these regulations will be handled by the Student Affairs Division of the Student Services Department.

(Revision/Abolition)

Article 14

1. Any revision or repeal of these regulations shall be carried out by the President after deliberation by the Steering Committee and Graduate Schools Committee, and shall be subject to approval by the Board of Directors.

Supplementary provisions

These regulations shall come into effect on April 1, 2026.
