East Japan Regional Scholarship Selection
Regulations concerning grant scholarships
(Purpose)
Article 1
- These regulations stipulate the necessary matters concerning the East Japan Regional Scholarship Selection Grant (hereinafter referred to as "this scholarship"), which is awarded to academically outstanding students who have entered Tohoku Gakuin University (hereinafter referred to as "the University") through the East Japan Regional Scholarship Selection process.
(Benefit amount)
Article 2
- The amount of this scholarship will be 500,000 yen per year.
(Continued benefits)
Article 3
- If a recipient of this scholarship (hereinafter referred to as "the scholarship recipient") meets all of the following conditions, they may continue to receive this scholarship during their enrollment period within the minimum required period of study.
- When the Grade Point Average (GPA) for the previous academic year falls within the top 10% of each department.
- When the number of credits earned in the previous year is 30 or more.
(Suspension of continued payments)
Article 4
- Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding article, if any of the following conditions apply, the continued payment for the relevant fiscal year shall be suspended.
- If the student is on leave of absence at the time the decision regarding continued grants is made for the relevant academic year, or if the student is already receiving continued grants in the same academic year due to taking a leave of absence.
- In addition, if there are other special circumstances that make it inappropriate to continue providing this scholarship.
(Selection of scholarship recipients)
Article 5
- The selection of scholarship recipients is made by the university president, based on a proposal from the student committee and after deliberation by the faculty council.
(Certification of continued benefits)
Article 6
- The decision to grant continued financial support is made by the university president, based on a proposal from the student committee and after deliberation by the faculty council.
(Loss of eligibility for benefits)
Article 7
- If a recipient of this scholarship is found to fall under any of the following categories, they will lose their eligibility to receive this scholarship.
- When a student is expelled from school (excluding death).
- When a request to decline the benefit is submitted.
- When a disciplinary action is taken within this university.
(Administrative)
Article 8
- All matters related to these regulations will be handled by the Student Affairs Division of the Student Services Department.
(Revision/Abolition)
Article 9
- Any amendment or repeal of these regulations shall be initiated by the Student Committee, approved by the Faculty Council, carried out by the President, and then approved by the Board of Directors.
- Supplementary Provisions (Revision No. 31, February 19, 2020)
- These regulations shall come into effect on April 1, 2025.
