Student Medical Expense Subsidy Regulations

(Purpose)

Article 1
  1. These internal regulations stipulate necessary matters concerning medical expense assistance for students who sustain injuries during classes or extracurricular activities that exceed the scope of first aid provided in the school infirmary and require diagnosis and treatment by a physician.

(definition)

Article 2
  1. In these regulations, the meanings of the following terms shall be as defined in each respective item.
    1. Student: Refers to undergraduate and Graduate Schools students enrolled at Tohoku Gakuin University (hereinafter referred to as "the University").
    2. Classes: These refer to courses that are conducted using the facilities of Tohoku Gakuin University, as defined in Article 21 of the Tohoku Gakuin University Regulations and Article 12 of the Tohoku Gakuin Graduate Schools Regulations.
    3. Extracurricular activities: These refer to practices, training camps, matches, and performances conducted by student organizations officially recognized by Tohoku Gakuin University using the university's facilities.

(Subsidy amount)

Article 3
  1. The amount of medical expense assistance will be the out-of-pocket expense for the initial consultation using National Health Insurance or various social insurance plans.

(Notification of injury)

Article 4
  1. In the event of an injury, the relevant faculty member or person in charge must promptly contact the health center or student affairs office and receive instructions.

(Application Procedure)

Article 5
  1. The application procedures for subsidies are as follows:
    1. Immediately upon the occurrence of an injury, the relevant faculty member or the person in charge must fill out the injury report with the necessary information and submit it to the Dean of Students.
    2. Applications for subsidies must be submitted within 5 days of the date of injury, by submitting the following documents.
      1. A. Injury report that also serves as an application form for subsidies.
      2. (i) Doctor's certificate (to be submitted only if instructed to do so)
    3. Subsidies will be provided based on receipts for medical treatment costs from medical institutions. Failure to submit receipts will result in the subsidy not being provided.

(Administrative)

Article 6
  1. All matters related to these internal regulations will be handled by the Student Affairs Division of the Student Services Department.

(Revision/Abolition)

Article 7
  1. Any revision or abolition of these internal regulations shall be carried out by the President after deliberation by the Tohoku Gakuin University Student Committee and reported to the Board of Directors.
Supplementary provisions
These internal regulations shall come into effect on April 1, 1973.

Supplementary Provisions (Revised No. 231, February 28, 2020)
These internal regulations will come into effect on February 28, 2023, and will apply from April 1, 2023.
