Views on the political activities of Tohoku Gakuin University students

  1. It is natural for students to show interest in real-world political activities and to make value judgments about them. Activities such as investigating, researching, and discussing political issues, and criticizing policies from an academic standpoint should be permitted. However, political activities within the university with the intention of supporting or opposing a particular political party should not be permitted.
  2. Since political activity is a fundamental right, students are free to engage in political activities outside of the university as individuals, as long as it does not tarnish the dignity of a student of this university.
However, when acting as a group in the name of the university, students must follow democratic procedures among themselves and comply with the "Regulations Concerning Extracurricular Activities of Students."
Supplementary Provisions
These regulations shall come into effect on April 1, 1965.
