2. The basement of the General Research Building houses a collection of commercial journals, university bulletins, academic journals, and dictionaries related to law and political science. Access is free, so please search here if you wish to examine printed materials or if you are looking for information unavailable through online journals.
   Furthermore, Graduate Schools branch office houses many specialized books and materials that Graduate Schools will likely need, so please make full use of it. It's only a few dozen meters from the research lab.

Using online journals such as TKC

Case law collections are essential for legal research. Graduate School of Law students can access various online journals from the library's website. The most frequently used is probably the online journal provided by "Westlaw Japan." Another popular resource for searching case law information is the TKC Online Journal. All enrolled students are given an ID and password, allowing them to easily access case law information and research literature.

To obtain case law information and literature information in foreign languages, you can access the following websites from the library's homepage:

Subsidies for Graduate Schools students

This graduate school provides a certain level of financial support for various activities undertaken by Graduate Schools.

① Subsidies for activities of each graduate school and department

A maximum of 5,000 yen will be provided for activities (such as sports competitions) in which the Dean of the Graduate School, the Head of the Department, or the Supervising Professor participates.

② Subsidies for publication of institutional journals

A maximum of 10,000 yen will be provided for the publication of newsletters, seminars, and research journals.

③ Seminar/off-campus training camp subsidy (up to twice per person per year)

An off-campus training camp in which the supervising professor participates, such as for seminars. 3,500 yen

④ Assistance with presentations at domestic and international academic conferences, participation in domestic academic conferences, surveys, research, and data collection activities.

Each subsidy (A-D) will be provided once per person per year, subject to the limits of the annual budget.

1. Subsidies for attending domestic academic conferences: (a) Half of the actual transportation costs incurred to attend the conference (up to 15,000 yen) as student discount fares, (b) Half of the actual accommodation costs incurred to attend the conference (up to 5,000 yen)
2. Subsidies for presenters at domestic conferences: (a) Actual cost of transportation to attend the conference, up to a maximum of 30,000 yen, as student discount fares; (b) Actual cost of accommodation to attend the conference, up to a maximum of 10,000 yen.
3. Subsidy for presenters at conferences held overseas: A flat rate of 100,000 yen for attending the conference.
4. Support for research, study, and data collection activities: Actual expenses up to a maximum of 20,000 yen.

A shared research room for Graduate School of Law students is located on the 5th floor of the General Research Building. Students can dedicate themselves to their research here all day long.

Contribution to the Annual Journal of Law Studies

Students complete their studies only after they have written a master's or doctoral thesis and it is deemed worthy of a master's or doctoral degree. It is encouraged that these theses be made public. In Graduate School of Law, students can contribute revised master's theses, as well as theses by current students and graduates, to the *Annual Journal of Law Studies*. Of course, this requires rigorous guidance and approval from a supervisor beforehand.
