Learn the mechanisms that drive real-world society.
We will consider how society can be structured to allow people with diverse differences—such as generation, gender, disability, ethnicity, and culture—to "coexist," and learn about the "economics" necessary to realize and operate such a society. Starting with an understanding of current issues such as an aging population, a declining birthrate, and population decrease, "empathy" is essential to consider what kind of society we should create. This empathy leads to the ability to adapt to the people and environment we interact with in life, and ultimately to the strength to live.
Classification of learning
- Economics
- Students will learn the basic concepts, theories, and history of economics. Furthermore, they will deepen their understanding of the current state and trends of the domestic and international economies, which are important when considering an inclusive society, from various perspectives, including through courses unique to the university.
- Symbiotic social system
- Students will learn about inclusive societies from the perspectives of "policy" and "society." They will learn about various issues occurring in society, such as inequality, gender issues, and ethnic conflicts, as well as the efforts and policies being implemented to address these issues.
