Message from the teacher

In 21st-century Japanese society, working in some form is essential for maintaining daily living expenses. Even university students now routinely use their free time between classes to work part-time jobs.

As mentioned above, work is an inseparable part of our lives, but various problems arising from work, such as the working poor, long working hours, and the insecurity of "non-regular" employment, are often covered in the media. On the other hand, it cannot be denied that many students graduate from university without receiving specialized training on the current state and background of these problems, or on the rules governing work.

To all university students who will soon be entering the workforce, I hope you will experience learning that allows you to confront the concept of "work" head-on with a sense of ownership. Furthermore, through such learning, I hope you will be able to understand more deeply and broadly the nature of society, which is built on the "coexistence" of diverse people.
