Message from the teacher

In Social Security Theory and Social Insurance Theory, you will learn about the Japanese social security system, including its history and finances. Social security affects everyone: the health insurance card you use when going to the hospital, the pensions your grandparents receive, the nursery school you attended as a child, and so on. We hope you will gain a more concrete understanding of when and what benefits are available, and how social security connects to your daily life. We also encourage those aspiring to become financial planners to take this course.

Social security is an important policy when considering a harmonious society. People's perspectives and feelings towards social security differ depending on their circumstances, such as those who have never had to think about social security before, or those who have already received a lot of benefits. We hope that you will deepen your consideration of the nature of social security, including why it is necessary and what role it plays, while acknowledging that there are various people with different circumstances and viewpoints.
